Testing Novel New Drip Emitter with Variable Diameters for a Variable Rate Drip Irrigation

چکیده
This research presents a new variable rate drip irrigation (VRDI) emitter design that can monitor individual water drops. Conventional systems cannot the flow per emitter. Application uniformity for conventional emitters be decreased by clogged emitters, irregular orifices, and decreases in pressure. A VRDI overcome challenges field increasing application each plant reducing losses. Flow is affected diameter of delivery pipe pressure system. study compares volumetric with diameters inner (1 mm, 1.2 1.4 1.6 mm) outside (3 3.5 4 4.5 three pressures (34 kPa, 69 103 kPa). The tests revealed had rates increased as operating similar to tube. was slightly pressure, but even this increase did not show large changes rate. tube 88% larger than all (p < 0.05). However, affect drop sizes at emitter, generalized linear mixed models (GLM) results volume impacted outlet interaction between also significant p 0.01, statistically 0.01. electronic components used control our are readily compatible off-the-shelf data telemetry solutions; thus, could controlled remotely relay centralized repository or decision-maker, plurality these enable full-field scale VRDI.

Emitter and filter tests for wastewater reuse by drip irrigation
Agriculture is the main user of water in Italy, as in most regions of the world. Particularly in Mediterranean regions, where it is more difficult to meet the agricultural water demand with conventional resources, wastewater reuse represents a viable option. Drip irrigation is particularly suitable for wastewater reuse because it minimises the health risks to farmers and product consumers due t...
متن کاملModeling the future of irrigation: A parametric description of pressure compensating drip irrigation emitter performance
Drip irrigation is a means of distributing the exact amount of water a plant needs by dripping water directly onto the root zone. It can produce up to 90% more crops than rain-fed irrigation, and reduce water consumption by 70% compared to conventional flood irrigation. Drip irrigation may enable millions of poor farmers to rise out of poverty by growing more and higher value crops, while not c...
متن کاملSimulation of the flow characteristics of a drip irrigation emitter with large eddy methods
Realizing the internal flow visualization inside the drip irrigation emitter is the basis of optimizing the labyrinth path structure and promoting its anti-clogging capability. The Computational FluidDynamics (CFD)method has become an effective approach to research the water movement in the labyrinth path of the drip irrigation emitter. In this paper, the standard k-ε model and the Large Eddy S...
متن کاملAdvantages and Disadvantages of Subsurface Drip Irrigation
The advantages and disadvantages of subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) as compared to alternative irrigation systems are conceptually discussed. Each category (advantages and disadvantages) is subdivided into three groups: 1) Water and soil issues; 2) Cropping and cultural practices, and 3) System infrastructure issues. The adaptation and adoption of SDI systems into diverse cropping systems, geo...
